The same code base that powers IronPort's most sophisticated customers is available in all of IronPort's email security appliances, to protect enterprises of all sizes. By reducing the downtime associated with spam, viruses and a wide variety of other threats, these products enable the administration of corporate mail systems and reduce the burden on technical staff. Cisco acquired IronPort in January 2007. IronPort email and web security gateway and management products, currently referred to as Cisco Email Security and Cisco Web Security, have now become an integral part of the Cisco Security vision and strategy.
